Advanced Financial Analysis Seminar
Advanced Financial Analysis Seminar PLEASE NOTE: No scheduled AFAS courses at this time.
Advanced Financial Analysis Seminar (AFAS) picks up where the financial portion of IALEIA’s FIAT course ends, providing both new materials and expanded exercises in which to engage. To take the AFAS, you should have taken the FIAT or a similar basic analytic course.
Developed by Marilyn B. Peterson, CICA and CFE, the course has received high marks in its first five iterations. Participants rated it as 100% ‘would recommend to a colleague’. Instructor knowledge and instructor feedback were also given nearly perfect grades.
It is 20 hours over five days, with 2 hours each day of instructor-led online activity (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon EST) and 2 hours of each day of practical exercises to be completed prior to the next class.
Topics included in the seminar are:
- Introduction
- Money Laundering
- Business Record Analysis
- Personal Bank Record Analysis
- Bank Secrecy Record Analysis
- Financial Profiles
- Non-bank Financial Records Analysis
- E-currency and Alternate Payment Records Analysis
- Trade-based Money Laundering

The cost of the AFAS is $300 for IALEIA members and $500 for non-members. FIAT instructors and developers can use one point to cover the registration fee.
