2010-07-26 - Fusion Center Fellowship Program
A 12 month fellowship with the National Fusion Center Initiative offices in Washington, DC, is available for mid- to senior-level state and major urban area fusion center officials and is intended to help fusion centers achieve the baseline capabilities and support the national network of fusion centers. Fellows may serve in a liaison and/or advisor capacity to the National Fusion Center Initiative and support the development of national-level policies, programs, or projects related to information sharing and strengthening the national network of fusion centers. Under this fellowship, DHS will sponsor any necessary clearance upgrades for selected applicants to TS/SCI, and the costs of travel and per diem will be covered, including incidental and miscellaneous expenses, lodging, and transportation. All other expenses and the participant’s salary are the responsibility of the fellow's sponsoring agency.
The one-year fellowship will be provided from September 2010 through August 2011, with a start date of September 7, 2010. A completed application form and required attachments (resume and letter of recommendation) must be submitted electronically to Susan Burns at Susan.Burns@dhs.gov no later than August 13, 2010. The selected applicant will be notified by August 20, 2010.

Henley-Putnam University publishes a peer-reviewed academic journal, Journal of Strategic Security (JSS). The journal is published quarterly. The purpose of JSS is to create an academic forum for scholarship and discussion of the larger issues of security from a multi-disciplinary perspective, combining the fields of intelligence, terrorism/counterterrorism studies, and personal protection, among others.
JSS accepts unsolicited query letters, book reviews, and well-written scholarly papers on all aspects of strategic security. We welcome submissions from students, professionals, and scholars in intelligence, military, law enforcement, government, academia, and the private sector. If you have a proposal for a paper or a completed manuscript, feel free to submit it for consideration according to the instructions below.

The second CEPS International Conference will be held at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra from October 7-8, 2010, in Canberra, Australia. The theme for the 2010 conference is ‘The Nexus between Policing and Security.’
The conference will bring together national and international policing and security scholars and practitioners for a variety of plenary sessions and workshops.
A CEPS e-news edition for the conference will be disseminated on a regular basis to provide the latest news on the technical and social programs, speakers and registration in the lead-up to the event.
